Essential Functions:
Identification and reporting of generation performance, including development of internal generator performance tools; outreach with generation resource owners as needed to resolve issues.
Maintain applicable PJM manuals and support NERC Standards development and compliance activities as required.
Support for Generation Department initiatives with PJM stakeholder groups, including presentations.
Create and maintain visualization to portray findings from data analysis on various generation related datasets.
Characteristics and Qualifications: Required:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering or equivalent work experience 5+ years of power industry experience
Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
Ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, and customers
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)
Ability to possess a customer focus and an awareness of the importance of the customer in a service organization such as PJM
Experience with major substation and transmission line construction and maintenance, or generation operation, construction and maintenance activities
Ability to interface with individuals at multiple levels and influence decisions based upon expertise and knowledge
Preferred:
MS, degree in Electrical Power Engineering
At least 8 years of experience working in power generation, specifically power plant operations
Experience with PJM operations, markets, and planning functions
Experience in the Generation and Transmission functions
Experience with power system engineering concepts, principles, theories, regulations, standards, reliability concepts and techniques especially as they apply to PJM operations and planning
Ability to work independently and to train, guide or assist others to perform complex assignments
Ability to work with, and gain the confidence of, parties with frequently conflicting interests to develop solutions to complex concerns
