THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Bio is looking for a Sr Director, Clinical Operations who will contribute to the development of strategic direction in the conduct of multiple clinical studies. Responsibilities include providing leadership to staff and study teams to ensure clinical trials are conducted in accordance with the protocols, Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs), Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), and other applicable regulatory requirements and management and mentoring of direct reports.
You will report into the Vice President of Clinical Operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide strategic operational guidance to ensure that trials are properly defined, planned, and executed across all assigned clinical stage programs.
- Ensure high compliance with company SOPs, ICH-GCP guidelines, governing regulations and patient safety standards to maintain inspection readiness.
- Responsible for leading clinical operation’s team and partnering with outsourcing and contracting to achieve project and goals promptly.
- Responsible for leading and guiding creative and constructive interactions with clinical sites to ensure relationships and sponsor of choice long term.
- Provide strategic input to project risk analysis and solution development to a variety of complex problems.
- Ensure that Clinical Operations department interfaces with key functional groups on an ongoing basis.
- Manage, mentor and develop clinical operations team on assigned programs to high level of effectiveness.
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree with 18+ years’ industry experience, Master’s degree with 13+ years’ experience, PhD with 13+ years’ of industry experience
- 12 + years Pharmaceutical development experience moving product candidates from Phase I through pivotal and filing, with at least 10 years managing CROs and vendors.
- 6 + years managing direct reports.
- Experience with multinational or international clinical trials is required.
- Strong strategic/conceptual skills that can bridge the gap between different interdisciplinary departments.
- Experience in evaluating, negotiating, and managing multiple successful relationships with partners, ability to set up milestones to track progress and working collaboratively with partners.
- Communication and presentation skills (both oral and written) are required with the ability to interact with colleagues and partners at all levels of experience are expected.
- Experience with hiring, training, developing, mentoring, and motivating team members to the highest level of performance.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER:
The expected salary range for this position is $225,500.00 to $329,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
