SemanticBits, LLC: Senior Software Application Engineer – Reston, VA

DUTIES:

• Design and develop web and mobile application using advanced software development technologies.
• Develop the Content Management System by writing custom modules to support user requirements to manage data & information.
• Develop the front-end architecture by writing custom templating to support user requirements for web and mobile application.
• Develop the architecture of the database schema, inclusive of determining the degree of normalization of the database for better performances.
• Develop and architect back-end code to support the front-end design for web and mobile applications
• Perform QA/QC of code using manual and automation testing.
• Develop serverless infrastructure for web application in Cloud platform.
• Ensure automated deployment of code for CI/CD which help development team & client.
• Continuously monitor cloud activities for better security of our applications.
• Arrange project requirements in an understandable programming sequence by analyzing requirements and preparing a software development workflow chart/diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language and logic.
• Develops program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related technical field and

1 year of experience in any related software development occupation (e.g. Mobile Application Developer, Virtual Reality Developer, etc.)

Qualified candidate must possess one (1) year of experience with each of the following:

• Building web and/or mobile applications using object oriented programming
• Building RESTful (WebAPI) services
• Writing SQL queries and database development
• browser developer tools, git code versioning platforms and JIRA
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery patterns
• Agile Software Development practices and concepts

Any amount of experience with or demonstrated knowledge of:

• Angular JS JavaScript application framework
• HTML, CSS, ES6 JavaScript and Web Standards

*Knowledge may be demonstrated through education, training and or experience.

Full time telecommuting, position may be performed from anywhere in the U.S. Up to 10% domestic travel required.

There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
