PositionOverview:
Siemens Mobility Customer Servicesis seeking a Product Manager Alternative Parts to lead its alternative partdevelopment business based in Sacramento, CA. Customer Services is the service arm for Siemens Mobility rolling stockproducts (Light Rail Vehicles, and Main Transit Lines), covering customer needsthroughout North America.
As the product manager for the alternativeparts program, you will expand and improve the current service vision for existingproducts and develop an ongoing strategy of new product development and sales. You will analyze market and competitiveconditions to strike a clear path toward the business value of Siemens developedparts and move the offerings to the next level of growth and service.
In this role one will look at partslife cycle management and address material end of life with potential solutionsto offer products with new life cycles and you will use your new productdevelopment skills to create a portfolio of “form-fit-function” partsequivalents for customers. This role mayencompass replacement of obsolete hardware or developing new alternative partswith better performance than original equipment.
Whatyour day-to-day will look like:
- Lead the products, solutions and/or services assigned with fullresponsibility for the results, including definition of customer and marketrequirements, growth & profit strategies, business planning, road mapping.
- Constantly observe the market including internal and externalfactors as well as relevant competitors' product(s), solution(s) and/orservice(s) to adjust product strategies and paths forward.
- Establish, develop, and lead a relevant cross functional teamnecessary to support the business goals of the product and services.
- Drive the business performance of the product(s), solution(s)and/or service(s) assigned over the whole product lifecycle in cooperation withall partners over the whole process chain (PLM / SCM / CRM).
- Incorporate market feedback including customer insights forcontinuous improvement of the program.
- Contribute to activities to continuously improve the productsdeveloped in this program.
- Monitorsuccess of program, projects, services, throughput and status of contracts,and/or customer experience performance.
- Know customer needs through research and market data
- Create long- and short-term product sales forecasts and analysisfor management
- Determine product pricing based on market research, productioncosts and anticipated demand
Tothrive in this role, you have:
- BachelorsDegree in Business or Technical discipline,
- Demonstratedsuccess in product management and new product development,
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Office,
- Abilityto make decisions in a challenging environment,
- Entrepreneurialapproach and the ability to drive ideas into a product and overcome challengesand hurdles in developing a new business category,
- Abilityto travel 25% of the time,
- Settingyou apart from others would be a Master’s degree in a business field of studywith experience in heavy industry or computer hardware. Experience with Jira and SAP would be a plus.

The base salary range for thisposition in California is $89,000-$120,100.
