Basic Function | Market Denison’s academic experience to students and their parents through personal visits, presentations, and telephone and electronic communication. Recruit, evaluate, and enroll students according to the goals set forth by the Office of Admission. Participate in on and off campus recruitment activities and programs. Extensive travel is required. |
Essential Job Functions | Recruit students for Denison’s academic experience by effectively managing an assigned geographic territory. Conduct interviews on- and off-campus, evaluate applications, and advise students, parents, and counselors on admission and financial aid matters. Schedule and perform recruitment presentations and conduct interviews at high schools, college night programs, and other appropriate venues. Meet individual application and enrollment goals as defined by the Office of Admission. Develop and maintain a travel schedule that aligns with the strategic priorities set forth by the Office of Admission. Evaluate applications for admission and make decision recommendations.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with community-based organizations, high schools, and independent counselors to help support student recruitment and retention. Work with current students at Denison to understand the messaging and policies that appeal most to applicants. Work with Denison alumni, families, and friends to help increase institutional visibility.
Stay current with trends and best practices in recruitment and admission. Maintain active membership and participation in appropriate professional organizations to help build solid working relationships with members of the college counseling community.
Represent the University in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications | - Bachelor’s degree.
- At least two years of experience working in college admission, or equivalent
- experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated strong presentation, listening, written, and verbal communication
- skills.
- Clear understanding and ability to communicate the values and mission of a
- residential, liberal arts college.
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s
- liability insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications | - Demonstrated experience using the Technolutions Slate CRM
- Admission experience in a selective environment

Physical Demands | Comfortable in an office setting, operating general office equipment, including lifting boxes up to 20 pounds. |
