A Brief Overview
This position will work closely with the Director, Community Health Engagement in UH Government & Community Relations (GCR) to support the implementation of a system-wide community health investment strategy that promotes health equity and wellness. This entails project management experience, critical thinking, effective communication skills and knowledge of healthcare policy and community health improvement.
What You Will Do
Project management to support the timely and effective implementation of a system-wide community health investment strategy
Ability to analyze, synthesize and depict data in compelling ways to inform decision making and convey progress on milestones; this requires proficiency with data management tools such as Office Timeline, Google Docs and Micro Soft Excel
Knowledgeable of the components and tasks required to conduct community health needs assessments (CHNAs) and community health strategy development
Assistance with completing various tasks associated with CHNAs and Community Health Implementation Strategies such as conducting qualitative research and compiling reports
Experience in building rapport, facilitating meetings and presenting information
Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete tasks in a timely manner
Ability to develop advocacy-related strategies addressing social influencers of health, in conjunction with UH’s system-wide advocacy agenda
Administrative duties such as coordinating meetings, data collection, follow-up with stakeholders to achieve established goals and objectives
Participation on relevant internal and external committees to exchange information and gain consensus on actions impacting desired outcomes
Some travel required between medical centers, for stakeholder meetings and to attend conferences

Education
Bachelor's Degree BS/BA degree (Required) and
Master's Degree in social science or public health related field (Preferred)
Work Experience
2 years experience in project management role (or equivalent experience utilizing interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills) (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Competency regarding social determinants of health (SDOH), health equity and population health improvement in healthcare context (Required proficiency)
Passionate about holistic wellbeing, inclusive of the social influencers of health (Required proficiency)
