The EHS Coordinator will help lead the day-to-day EHS activities for the Charlottesville, VA site. This high impact position will team up with operations, engineering, and office staff to help the team achieve EHS goals set by the business. The coordinator will evaluate and recommend actions that will reduce employee exposure to EHS risks. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- EHS Operations – 50%
- Support employees and managers on day-to-day EHS requirements.
- Be an active player in problem solving and coaching with supervisors as it relates to elimination of EHS risk.
- Review and raise New Chemical Checklists to EHS Manager after EHS evaluation of risks & hazards.
- Review changes with supervisors and approve Management of Change (MOC) checklists.
- Work with employees on hazard recognition and corrective actions.
- Determine EHS tools and materials needed on site for compliance and purchasing of these materials.
- Serve as a member on all EHS teams and participate to ensure their success.
- Sustain VPP STAR recertification.
- Represent the company as point of contact for OSHA VPP activities including sharing standard processes, participating in VPP audits, speaking at VPP conferences & leading VPP standard process events on site.
- EHS Training – 25%
- Coordinate, schedule and deliver EHS training for entire site.
- Develop and train EHS teams to sustain and improve EHS processes
- Review and update EHS training to meet regulatory compliance
- Ensure EHS element owners are trained on their duties as element leaders for the EHS management system
- Maintain and publish EHS training matrix
- Administration of EHS Management System – 25%
- Maintain all documentation as required by the EHS management system
- Coordinate the Velocity EHS system
- Develop new EHS programs for submittal to EHS Leader for approval.
- Various tasks as assigned by the business unit

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Four-year college degree in applicable field of study
- Knowledgeable of State (VAC), Federal (29 CFR 1910) and local EHS regulations
- Competent to deliver EHS training to meet regulatory requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees of all levels across the site.
- Willing to travel as needed.
- Prior experience in developing and delivering training programs.
- Strong drive to create a safe, healthy, and environmental compliant work environment.
- Strong digital literacy including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, Teams, and SharePoint
- Project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Experience with EHS management systems (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001)
- OSHA Special Government Employee
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Experience with OSHA Construction Standard 29 CFR 1926
- Experience in training others on presentation skills
