Department Overview
The EOC Response and Operations team reports into Emergency Preparedness & Response. This organization’s focus is to augment the current 8 team rotation and work in partnership with the Strategy & Execution team as functional representatives to exercise planning, along with the potential to become exercise evaluators and players. Both teams are in Wildfire Emergency Operations
Position Summary
Emergency Operations Center IST leaders function as part of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Incident Support Team (IST) during emergency or disaster incidents, following the Incident Command System (ICS) hierarchy. When activated for an emergency or disaster, they work to support emergency response activities. Outside of activations, they participate in emergency drills, training, and exercises, coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders and offices to ensure the broader organizational vision, policies, and procedures are fully-integrated into response activities, and develop communications for critical information sharing during incidents.
- This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
Bay Minimum: $140,000
Bay Maximum: $238,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves on permanent emergency management team to support the activation and operation of one or more centralized or regional emergency operations centers or teams during an actual emergency.
- Supervises coworkers in the execution of all program goals and objectives.
- Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.
- Reviews complex plans to identify deficiencies that must be addressed and provide guidance on solutions that would address issues identified.
- Leads the department Hazard Analysis Matrix for Emergency Planning.
- Assists in the planning and the development of annual functional Company exercise design and execution.
- Supports development of planning templates and emergency plan annexes to improve emergency planning functions.
- Supports Planning, facilitating and / or participates in regular LOB emergency training exercises and drills.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with business units and external agencies.
- Supports emergency planning manager in planning process with outside agencies.
- Represents PG&E at community events focused on emergency response and preparedness.
- Provides guidance, support, and information to assigned field groups preparing plans for inclusion in the Company Emergency Response Plan as Annexes.
- Provides guidance to Emergency Management Specialists in their daily work and special projects.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 7 years
Desired:
- Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training
- Experience as an Operations Section Chief
- Familiarity with utility distribution and transmission system (electric and gas)
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification
- Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) certification
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP) certification, or similar
