About the role:
We are currently seeking a Training Specialist to design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective training programs aligned with enterprise-wide business unit needs. The Training Specialist will partner with stakeholders to identify learning gaps, create instructional materials, and implement training solutions that contribute to employee development and organizational goals.
A day in the life of the Training Specialist will include:
Instructional Design and Content Development:
- Conducting needs assessments and analyzing training requirements for individual teams, departments, and the entire organization.
- Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate technical knowledge into engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Developing high-quality training materials across various formats, including instructor-led sessions, eLearning modules, simulations, and job aids.
- Utilizing adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to ensure content is well-organized, interactive, and meets specific learning objectives.
- Implementing innovative instructional technologies and strategies to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.
Training Delivery and Facilitation:
- Delivering engaging and interactive training sessions in multiple formats (in-person, online, blended).
- Facilitating discussions, answering questions, and ensuring learner comprehension and engagement.
- Applying adult learning principles and facilitation techniques to create a positive and effective learning environment.
- Adapting training delivery based on learners' needs and feedback.
Enterprise-wide Training and LMS Management:
- Supporting the design and implementation of enterprise-wide training initiatives aligning with organizational goals.
- Assisting in managing the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver, track, and report on training data.
- Ensuring compliance with mandated training requirements for the organization.
- Partnering with HR, business units, and other departments to ensure smooth implementation and adoption of training programs.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Staying updated on current trends and best practices in learning and development, instructional design, and training delivery technologies.
- Conducting program evaluations to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of a positive learning culture within the organization.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Learning and Development Manager.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, human resources, or related field or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a training or instructional design role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Strong experience in developing and delivering engaging training programs across various formats.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Expertise in learning management systems (LMS) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Other Skills:
- Ability to lead a full training cycle
- Experienced in selecting and aligning delivery options and media for training and/or learning events to the desired learning or behavioral outcomes
- Capable of delivering training using multiple delivery options and media, for example, mobile/multi-device, online, classroom, and/or multimedia
- Experience with presentation media and support tools that enhance learner’s experience (projection technology, digital presentation, video, charts, simulations, asynchronous technology)
