The Social Impact Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting the Social Impact team with reporting, analysis, and operational tasks to advance Macy’s social purpose, Mission Every One. This role requires building relationships, maintaining an analytical mindset, interpreting data to inform decision-making, demonstrating strong administrative and customer service skills, and adapting to changes. Based in New York City, this position reports to the Director of Social Impact within the Corporate Communications team.
The Coordinator joins a team of experienced and new talent in a world-class internal and external communications team, all working together to strengthen Macy’s social impact function.
Key responsibilities include supporting the Social Impact team with reporting and analysis of colleague giving, particularly focusing on two national campaigns. The role also involves administrative and operational duties, such as processing grant applications, payments, and invoices, managing responses to incoming messages, and performing other tasks as assigned.
What You Will Do
- Administer employee files to accurately assign and report all colleagues by pyramid and/or location, ensuring precise processing of colleague payroll donations. Maintain an updated database of all employee data and donation designations.
- Independently create and analyze regular update reports for Social Impact, including total giving, colleague fundraising campaigns (Bag Hunger / The Big Give Back), MEO goals, CECP surveys, and the annual Social Impact Report.
- Analyze and interpret data to provide recommendations and insights for decision-making.
- Execute weekly grant payments, the monthly ROF process, and quarterly matching gifts reporting and tracking.
- Manage the vendor relationship with the third-party vendor, including payments, contract renewals, data transmission, reporting, analytics, and strategic initiatives.
- Support the Director by fielding and responding to various requests from stores, captains, and local charities, including monitoring and managing responses to the Mission Every One email account.
- Handle all administrative and financial needs, such as creating purchase orders, processing invoices, and managing expenses.
Skills You Will Need
Collaboration: Strong collaborative skills for effective teamwork with vendors, the buying team, and various internal departments.
Mathematical Skills: Must excel in math, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Technical Skills: Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite and other software programs – utilize Excel (advanced formulas) and Pivot Table functionality to analyze and manage goals and results.
Communication Skills: Clear and proactive communication approach to collaborate and present across functional lines and organizational levels.
Ownership and Accountability: Proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks and processes. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize and manage workload.
Results-Driven Approach: Ability to achieve tangible results, meet deadlines, and actively contribute to continuous process improvement. Innovative, creative, proactive and confident thinker.

- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs. This may include attending and leading events that could be scheduled outside of regular office hours.
- Able to work a hybrid schedule, with at least one day per week in the office. Must be able to work from Herald Square, as needed.
