Qualified candidate will be responsible for performing a broad range of accounting tasks and will assist the in-charge senior and engagement manager in the development of audit strategy, planning, review, and reporting of audit findings for Commercial and Employee Benefit Plan clients. The individual will work with the audit team remotely, on the client’s premises, or at a designated PKFOD office, managing the engagement and performing all appropriate audit procedures. Apply technical skills and on the job practices and business processes for clients.
Gain knowledge of the Firm’s software applications in facilitating auditing procedures.
Perform internal control testing, document deficiencies, and develop comments for inclusion in management letters.
Perform risk assessment process, apply knowledge in completing all related forms. Participate in preparation of financial report (statements, footnotes, and any supplemental information).
Demonstrate an ability to take direction to ensure that assignment quality standards are achieved.
Plan, organize and work efficiently to identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability.
Monitor one’s own engagement task budgets, be aware of out-of-scope work and proactively communicate potential issues to appropriate team member.
Actively participate in learning and development opportunities, formal learning (CPE) and training programs.
Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
Must have 150 credit requirement to become CPA certified.
0-1 years of progressive audit experience in public accounting required.
Commercial and Employee Benefit Plan engagement experience a plus.
A solid understanding of audit services, with knowledge of GAAP and GAAS regulations.
Proficient with computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, ProSystems and CCH.
Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and recommendations in client related matters pertaining to the audit.
Additional hours during busy season may be required to meet client deliverables.
Local travel to clients may be required.
