Coordinator - College and Career Readiness, Education and Assessment Services Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Education & Assessment Services, the College and Career Readiness, Educational Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the District’s college and career readiness program to optimize the District’s goal that every student graduating from high school will be college and career ready. The Coordinator provides leadership and supervision to various college and career programs, coordinates and administers professional development programs directly related to post-secondary planning, and serves as a resource to schools, counselors, and other departments in the District. Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a list of duties that are representative of the position and include, but are not limited to:
Provides leadership and oversight of the District CTE educational program, including associated grant funding.
Collaborates with school personnel to develop a college and career readiness program and CTE pathways.
Assists in the creation of a coherent vision for the multiple student support programs, including CTE, dual enrollment, work-based learning opportunities, and admissions to post-high school institutions.
Serves as the liaison with ROP within the region and state and serves on advisory boards regarding CTE programs.
Collects and manages college and career-ready data to include, but not limited to records of attendance, pathway enrollment, and completion, and participation in all program activities and events.
Ensures compliance with any grant and externally supported college and career readiness programs.
Identify and support opportunities for counselors, teachers, and students to participate in 21st-century college and career opportunities.
General oversight and support of the District guidance program
Provides leadership, monitors, and supports the District’s dual enrollment program to include advising students and site counselors.
Leads efforts toward increasing college and career readiness for all students, while reducing the achievement gap.
Serves as a liaison between college access organizations, counselors, and District schools.
Coordinates collaborative partnerships and manages relationships with colleges, universities, businesses, and military representatives.
Supports guidance services at each school in post-secondary planning with students and parents.
Work with school sites to develop and implement student events and activities that enhance a college and career culture, including college and career fairs.
Provides leadership in the planning, monitoring, and use of effective best practices in increasing student college preparation and matriculation rates.
Provides leadership in the planning, monitoring, and use of effective best practices to increase student graduation, college matriculation, and certification pass rates.
Provides leadership and supports the identification, selection, training, and maintenance of Districtwide educational technology related to instruction.
Supports site educational technology coaches and facilitates monthly meetings in coordination with the Director of Technology.
Provide guidance and supervise the selection of instructional materials; Supervise the ordering, inventory, and distribution of materials and equipment.
General oversight of the District AVID program
Coordination and support for the District visual and performing arts program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of college and career processes, technology, and supports;
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements governing college and career programs in California.
Experience managing service delivery across multiple partners in a school or community-based setting;
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and stimulate staff and/or external partners to meet performance targets;
A strategic and responsible decision-maker who displays consistent follow-through in meeting goals and achieving measurable results;
Knowledge of electronic data collection and ability to utilize technology; experience with Naviance and/or CCGI preferred;
Ability to:
Analyze complex situations and prepare response alternatives for consideration by decision-making groups.
Provide communication that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education;
Work effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, community, and other school system staff;
Collaborate with outside agencies in planning and implementing effective programs;
Keep abreast of new guidelines, emerging trends and best practices related to college and career preparedness and support programs;
Promote flexibility and resiliency through thinking critically and creatively;
Manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
Be self-motivated and initiative-driven.
Experience with public speaking, staff development, facilitation, and team building.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing using tact and diplomacy.
Experience
Experience with college/career educational instructional support and planning, preferably in a comprehensive high school setting preferred.
Minimum of three years of school site administrative experience preferred.
Education
Valid California teaching credential.
Possession of a valid California K-12 administrative credential.
An earned Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
