The OIG has jurisdiction to conduct investigations, evaluations and audits over all departments, agencies, commissions and boards under the Mayor's jurisdiction, as well as in contracts with individuals or companies receiving City funds and doing business with the City.As an operationally independent office, the OIG conducts criminal and administrative investigations, as well as more proactive program reviews and evaluations. Depending on the nature and scope of the task, the OIG partners with other City departments, the Philadelphia Police, federal and/or state law enforcement agencies, as well as federal, state and local prosecutors.The OIG also supervises and works with Integrity Officers (IOs) appointed within each City department under the Mayor's jurisdiction. While an OIG Investigator is responsible for performing a full range of assignments , this position will have emphasis on complex and multifaceted confidential investigations focused on contract and procurement compliance and analyzing the effectiveness of government policies.
