Direct business ownership of PJM’s analytics tools and technical systems
Coordinate and drive the output of PJM’s data analytics initiatives and projects to ensure they deliver the expected business benefit to PJM, PJM members and stakeholders
Cultivate and maintain an intimate knowledge of the organization’s key business processes and how those processes are influenced by information
Demonstrate and apply a deep and comprehensive understanding of the importance and impact of analytics (or bad analytics) on the ability of the business to meet its own objectives
Cultivate visibility and respect from all levels of the organization; must have credibility and track record of success in the business
Apply facilitation and conflict resolution skills to assist in resolving the different points of view and requirements that invariably collide during cross-team and cross organization efforts
Lead the data management team in developing department and project work plans, including scope, milestones, schedule, releases, resources and deliverables
Build and develop strong relationships with PJM leadership, clients and data stakeholders by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems, and being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines
Communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels, from clerical positions to senior management team
Prioritize work to produce maximum results in order to meet short deadlines and deliverables
Collaborate with data governance board members to receive and understand policy directives.
Assist analytics owners in interpreting policy requirements.
Mentor analytics users as they fulfill their business needs.
Assist in consolidated reporting into the data governance board, individually (per their direct responsibility) but also as a team (a data owners group, for example) when the need for owners spans data domains and business functions.
Maintain a productive relationship with the data governance board. Provide input to the board on policy creation within the relevant scope, with an eye toward viability of enacting policies being considered by the board; assist the board with consolidated reporting on enactment status from information stewards to the board. Directly accountable to the board for board commissioned project delivery as sponsor or project manager.
Maintain a productive relationship with business Analytics Owners – Give guidance on standard approaches and ensure that best practices are shared across the owner group.
Maintain a productive relationship with subject matter experts – assist SMEs perform their roles on data systems (such as DBAs, data architects, etc.) to align with the policies of the board, or the achieve data project objectives. Operate as final arbitrator to decision that cannot be resolved within the standard operating routing of the information governance board.
Gain and maintain an awareness of the security, privacy and quality requirements for critical data entities
Exercise solid project management skills to guide point-in-time and ongoing targeted data quality, retention, security and privacy improvement projects
Operate and maintain the Enterprise-wide Analytics program
