A Day in the Life of a Safety Manager at Sonsray:
$85,000 - $90,000 annually DOE
The Safety Manager is responsible for providing safety leadership across multiple states and locations, ensuring compliance, implementing safety directives, improving safety performance, and ensuring shop safety policies and procedures align with government regulations and Sonsray policies and procedures.
- Travel up to 70% of the job. Requires extensive travel throughout multiple states.
- Ability to travel and work 100% onsite. Not a remote opportunity.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT).
- Perform safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Conduct post-accident investigations and prepare reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management.
- Work to develop, evaluate, and upgrade safety programs.
- Assist with workers compensation and auto claims.
- Assist and maintain environmental reports including Stormwater permits, SPCC, etc.
- Create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct accident prevention training and health and safety training.
- Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions.
- Monitor employee conformity to safety laws and policies.
- Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues.
- Bilingual Spanish is a huge plus.
