Overview

Spearheads recruiting effort of the men’s recruits, including identification, communication, practice visits, and organization of visits to campus. Assists in monitoring strength training sessions. Aids in organization, collection, input, and interpretation of training data, and manages logistics of travel. Performs services to support an active, student-oriented campus environment while complying with national, local, university, NCAA, IRA and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes.
Responsibilities
Coaching, Training, Instruction - Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and to work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team. Keep the team safe on the water and adhere to best professional practices.
Recruitment - Recruitment of student-athletes who demonstrate the potential to be successful academically and by contributing to Men’s Rowing.
Strength & Conditioning - Helps supervise lifts for both the Men’s and Women’s Rowing.
Academic Oversight - Mentor and monitor the academic success of the student-athletes
Compliance - Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, IRA and conference laws, regulations, standards and codes. (Note: The violation of NCAA, IRA, or conference rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination).
Boathouse Maintenance - Assist in upkeep of boats and coaching launches, including refilling launch gas
Special Events - Be involved with and/or supervise special events (i.e. recruiting days, alumni events, end-of-year celebrations etc.)
Travel Assistance - Help coordinate travel of Men’s and Women’s Rowing, including securing hotels, meals on the road, and traveling with the team when the Director of Rowing is transporting the boats.
Administrative - Assists in monitoring athletes’ compliance (medical, USRowing, SafeSport), booking hotel rooms, writing travel itineraries, data entry
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree
A minimum of two (2) year coaching experience or high-level college rowing experience.
Experience driving a trailer or a willingness to learn is a plus.
