Requirements / Qualifications
Basic Functions:
Under the direction of the Principal, serves as the primary classroom instructor for students in the Dual Language Immersion elementary setting. Organizes and instructs students in reading and/or language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, health, physical education, art, music, and other assigned areas of the curriculum, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Trustees. Works collaboratively to plan, develop, implement, monitor, and assess a comprehensive educational program for students. Promotes close working relationships with staff, students and parents.
Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program Presentation
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
• EL Authorization or equivalent
• BCLAD in Spanish or equivalent
Experience:
• Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English;
• One year of successful teaching experience in an education setting is preferred.
Interview Process:
• The Spanish Dual Language Immersion Teacher interview process will consist of three components which are a writing sample, a mini lesson plan, and an interview. After the closing of the posting, an email with the writing prompt and mini-lesson plan information will be sent to the selected candidates.
• The writing sample and mini lesson plan will be reviewed before the interview.
