The Assistant Merchandiser is a member of the Product team at Newell Brands Technical Apparel (NBTA). NBTA is a division of Newell Brands (NYSE: NWL) and a globally-recognized designer, developer, marketer and retailer of high-performance technical apparel and equipment with a portfolio of brands that includes Marmot® and ExOfficio®.
The Assistant Merchandiser supports the Merchandising team with organizing seasonal launches, category strategies, product mix, financial roll ups and all data pertaining to style management, while working in accordance with the company time line to meet all deliverables in a professional manner.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain the seasonal line plan for all Outerwear with accuracy, documenting styles, historical sales data, materials, and margin objectives
· Build and maintain data tracking tools throughout the product development process, including PLM programs, sales communication tools, and marketing assets
· Manage visual line architecture
· Create presentation decks for internal and external product meetings, to include financial objectives, consumer insights, and competitive research analysis
· Responsible for all product information that goes into workbook and onto web site
· Identify trends and opportunities for growth, based on market research and competitor intelligence
· Coordinate CADs and assist in merchandising assortments for pre-season meetings and strategic accounts
· Act as a liaison between multiple teams and cross-functional departments to align all facets of a project
· Manage the team calendar, ensure that milestones are met, track progress, and troubleshoot roadblocks
· Builds presentation tools in support of the Merchandising team for use during the product development cycle and sales meetings.
· Participates in cross-functional go to market (GTM) work streams to ensure work is completed on time and priorities are managed appropriately.
· Coordinates with Marketing, Design and Sales counterparts on the execution of the seasonal tools, key items/outfit, and visual presentation tools.
· Assists in creating and managing reports for tracking product successes and failures in the market place.
· Aids in researching the needs of customers and consumers.
· Helps analyze competitors’ products, sales programs, and collateral to aid in product line decisions.
· Actively manages professional development.
Key Qualifications:
· University or four-year college degree in merchandising, product management, marketing, business or related field
· Experience in the outdoor apparel and equipment industry preferred
· Contributions in assisting management of a category
· Must be detail oriented but able to present the big picture
· Results oriented while exhibiting great creativity, energy, and resourcefulness
· Strong project planning, organizational and time management skills, with a high level of initiative
· Able to manage to deadlines, be flexible with change, drive to timely resolution

The CA pay range for this position is from 61,000 to 80,000. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
