Basic Function | Focus on getting students actively involved in career center programs and services. This role targets key audiences, including students, faculty, staff, parents, employers, and alumni to foster a comprehensive and supportive career exploration environment. We seek someone who is innovative, creative, and always looking for new opportunities to generate excitement and engagement around our initiatives. |
Essential Job Functions | Event Coordination and Collaboration:
- Work very closely with staff managing events to ensure seamless integration of engagement strategies.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing events that align with career services goals and objectives.
- Create, edit, and manage a variety of print and digital marketing materials to engage all constituents in Knowlton Center initiatives, programs, workshops, and other activities.
- Work closely with staff to strategize, create, and execute marketing campaigns to drive student attendance and engagement with the Knowlton Center.
- Partner with staff on creating and executing marketing plans and strategies for all signature programs, including but not limited to Treks (day-long visits to local employers), Career Readiness Boot Camps, the Denison Internship Program, the Journey Program, and more.
- Attend events as needed to take photos, gather content for social media, and enhance promotional efforts.
- Write and edit clear, compelling copy for all marketing plan collateral and tactics. Ensure all marketing materials conform to Denison brand guidelines and culture.
- Social Media Management:
- Create strategic social media plans and campaigns, posting content regularly to increase the visibility of the Knowlton Center.
- Manage and create content for all social media accounts including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
- Engage with students, alumni, and employers to grow awareness about the Knowlton Center.
- Use data analytics to drive marketing campaign effectiveness.
- Website Management:
- Manage Knowlton Connect (powered by uConnect) to provide organization and development of content and resources
- Create, regularly update, and maintain all Career Planning content and materials in both print and digital formats.
Student Engagement:- Develop innovative strategies to increase student participation in career services activities and events.
- Monitor event sign-ups and create strategies to increase attendance and engagement.
- Utilize marketing tools (email, social, print, interactive, etc.) to enhance student engagement, including creating flyers, social media posts, videos, and other promotional materials.
- Build strong relationships with students through active and innovative outreach efforts, including one-on-one meetings, group presentations, and networking events.
Other:- Manage relationships and build partnerships across the University, including with University Communication and Denison Edge.
- Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications | - A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of professional experience.
- Possess knowledge and experience in marketing.
- Display in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), their respective users, and how platforms are best deployed.
- Ability to guide co-workers when necessary (e.g., content development, creation and editing of content, online reputation management).
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in writing.
- Evidence of achievement in a team culture.
- Available to work some evenings and weekends.
- Occasional travel, including some travel to downtown Columbus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications | - Experience with a project management tool such as Monday, Asana, or Trello.
- Experience with Canva, email marketing platforms, and video editing tools.
