We are seeking a Geospatial Systems Engineer to join our innovative Product Development team. This role involves complex analysis and management of geospatial data, contributing to the development of software systems and operational solutions that address challenges in urban planning, land use change, and energy modeling. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in GIS, advanced statistical modeling, and machine learning, enabling them to develop data-driven solutions to support long-term electric grid infrastructure planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct quantitative spatial analysis and apply machine learning techniques to enhance predictive modeling of technologies such as Electric Vehicles, Photovoltaics, and Battery Storage, alongside modeling urban growth, transportation, and infrastructure.
Utilize GIS and remote sensing technology to analyze and interpret spatial data, with a focus on urban planning and environmental impact.
Collaborate with software developers to integrate GIS functionality and spatial data processing in broader application ecosystems.
Manage Data and Spatial Models across many client databases, ensuring data integrity, optimal performance, and re-usability.
Develop interactive maps and data visualizations using modern Big data tools like Kepler, Deck.gl, and PMTiles to communicate insights effectively.
Implement and optimize ETL pipelines, focusing on efficiency and data quality.
Engage in the full lifecycle of product development, from initial data gathering and analysis to deployment and CI/CD of geospatial applications.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in remote sensing, geospatial science, GIS, physical science, engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in geospatial data analysis, software development, or a related technical field or a master's degree.
Proficient in statistical software, Python, SQL, and modern GIS technologies.
Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large datasets with attention to detail and accuracy.
Travel would be minimal, occasional.
