Responsible for planning, implementing and administering the day-to-day operations of a recognized organizational and/or departmental program. Contributes to the strategic planning, design, development and implementation of program objectives, procedures, processes and standards. May supervise staff as it relates to the overall management of the program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Proposes, develops, coordinates, and organizes resources to meet program objectives and maintenance.
Develops and implements any applicable education, training, on-boarding and/or mentor ship pertaining to the program.
Researches, gathers, and summarizes data for evaluating performance of program or other program operations.
Identifies growth opportunities and further efficiencies that impact the program and/or departments success and establish strategic plans to achieve objectives.
Develops and implements procedures for data acquisition, management and quality control by analyzing data from multiple sources to evaluate trends, formulates recommendations and presents to senior leadership.
Ensures program compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as with local, state and federal laws; accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements.
Responsible for planning and managing the program's fiscal budgets and financials.
Identifies program participants and stakeholders and leads cross-functional teams in the administration, maintenance or expansion of the program.
Interfaces with internal/external stakeholders to maintain and further develop program growth, community outreach activities, as well as relationship building and maintenance.
Drafts the program's communication documents including policies and procedures.
Department-Specific Responsibilites
Increases representation of underrepresented minority (URM) groups in clinical trials at CS Cancer by partnering with COE, Disease Research Groups, Clinical Trial PI and teams- including those in our Network. Establish recruitment goals based on gaps identified by leadership for specific groups (Latine, Asian , Black) by disease site and utilize effective strategies identified by COE, including tailored materials.
Investigate patient, clinical, health system, and community-level barriers to URM representation, identify strategies to address and/or mitigate these barriers, including partnering with COE navigation teams for support and referral of patients. Through effective navigation, address and/or mitigate these barriers.
Work with COE to strengthen the community to study coordinator pipeline (COE builds partnership with external health care clinics that serve URMs to facilitate knowledge of clinical trials, process to refer patients for clinical trials, and early navigation to address barriers to clinical trials participation, navigator supports patients and study coordinators).
Collaborate with PIs and teams to troubleshoot and revise recruitment strategies. Catalog and share common barriers and facilitators to participation in clinical trials to recommend systems changes.
Routinely evaluate planned vs actual accrual and provide metrics to clinical research teams and DRGs to guide study progress in meeting target URM accrual rates.
Regularly monitor the overall Cancer Center’s enrollment of URM patients to trials and present report to COE, Clinical Research Leadership Committee, and CSC leadership to support annual progress reports, CCSG, ESAC and other reporting needs. Report process and outcome data to CCTO, DRGs and COE.
