Your Role
Pharmacy Readiness and Incident Management (PRIM) is a governance process and team within Pharmacy Services that logs, manages, and communicates the impact and resolution of all pharmacy-impacting issues. PRIM proactively monitors and communicates Pharmacy Operational Readiness activities, milestones, and risk mitigations for both Blue Shield of California (BSC) Pharmacy Services and pharmacy vendor partners. The Program Manager, Senior will support the BSC Pharmacy Reimagined initiative through the development and implementation of an overarching Pharmacy Continuity Program (PCP) that encompasses Pharmacy Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Cybersecurity Response plans. This role will ensure operational resilience by preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disruptions by leveraging BSC Continuity plans and integrating plans provided by BSC Pharmacy Service Providers. The Program Manager, Senior reports to the Pharmacy Services Senior Manager, Operations within the Pharmacy Readiness and Incident Management team.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
Understand BSC BCP/Cybersecurity Response/DR/ICC requirements, prepare and provide leadership with required actions
Design and lead efforts necessary to incorporate Pharmacy Service Providers’ BCP documentation and communication plans into structured PCP program
Lead PCP drills and exercises to comply with internal and external Audit requirements
Develop strategies to ensure the BCP provides optimal operational support for the current scope of the PCP, as well as position BSC to seamlessly incorporate new Service Providers
Represent BSC PCP in Modular Solutions implementation sessions as well as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) BCP meetings and forums
Work jointly with BSC stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment of Service Providers’ contractual BCP and DR obligations
Develop and/or evaluate materials that enhance operating efficiency, accuracy, and technical skill levels of supported staff
Quickly communicate issues to leaders requiring immediate attention
Facilitate conference calls in a clear and professional manner
Oversee Medi-Call enrollment status for transportation subcontractors through enrollment update reviews and audits as well as manage enrollment capacity impacts
Write and maintain processes and procedures to ensure compliance
