Job Summary

Under supervision of a special education teacher or program consultant, assist in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with exceptional needs in a learning environment; to monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist the teacher in meeting the educational needs of students enrolled in the program; perform a variety of other duties relative to assigned area of responsibility. Requirements / Qualifications

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE High school graduate or equivalent; some paid or volunteer experience working with children in an educational or child care setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Incumbents are encouraged to participate in courses, seminars, and workshops in the area of instructional services.
