ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop, oversee, and support student-centered programs and services to complement the institution's academic mission, including but not limited to student activities, student leadership opportunities, spiritual formation programming, equity programming, student clubs and organizations, etc.
- Develop strategies to engage students in opportunities outside the classroom that support their personal, social, and intellectual development by partnering with stakeholders across campus to support student engagement.
- Establish standards and management practices to ensure the quality and contemporary validity of all student development and engagement programs, including overseeing program reviews and other means of assessment.
- Develop and interpret policies that govern student engagement outside the classroom, including student conduct, community standards and values, residential and event policies and procedures, and policies defining the relationship of student organizations to the University.
- Provide direct assistance to students with concerns/grievances and students experiencing personal circumstances.
- Partner across the University to provide support and advocacy for students experiencing barriers to academic success.
- Ensure a fair and equitable conduct process for all students by reviewing reports of student misconduct cases that require disciplinary action to ensure recommendations conform to University policy.
- Work closely with student leadership as an advisor, mentor, and advocate, including serving as advisor to the MACU Student Government.
- Help establish a student culture where diversity is encouraged, and students learn to respect differences, take responsibility for their actions, and exercise leadership.
- Responsible for the communication of University policies and procedures pertaining to students and student activities, including internal judicial and disciplinary procedures,
the Student Handbook, and other documents. - Collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the University on critical retention and persistent strategies and initiatives for the different student populations.
- Responsible for administering the process of complete withdrawal from the University.
- Oversee resource allocations for all areas of responsibility, including regular review and reallocation of resources according to strategic priorities and identified needs.
- Work with the EVP to develop a multi-year housing occupancy strategy and plans to be used in campus-wide revenue goals.
- Work with the EVP to develop a multi-year enrollment strategy based on new enrollment and retention goals for the different student populations.
- Lead and develop highly productive teams demonstrating high levels of functional expertise and a deep understanding of MACUs core purpose, mission, vision, values, and strategy.
- Lead by having a strong presence on campus, particularly with the student body, by attending and presenting at student-centered events.
- Model an atmosphere of respect, caring, collective engagement, inclusive excellence, accountability, and personal growth.
- Serve as a member of the key committees within the University to ensure programming supports the persistence, graduation, and meaningful work goals of our students.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to introduce new students and families to MACU.
- Collaborate with various university stakeholders to respond to emergency and crisis incidents.
- Collaborate with other senior officials of the institution to identify and address critical issues impacting the Universitys mission, vision, and strategic direction.
- Serve as an ambassador for the University with alumni, parents, students, neighbors, community leaders, and professional staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
