Job Description
Provide technical direction in the identification/selection of primary and alternate active/passive components in support of new and existing designs
Lead in managing and executing of the component Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP)
Support and our customer SDRLs for diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) reporting
Collaborate with Purchasing/Production teams to keep current on availability/end-of-life status for components to allow proper planning across all company disciplines for alternate selection, re-design, life-time-buy, or product end-of-life dispositions
Select component alternates to overcome lead time and availability issues
Maintain part catalog technical data and work with component manufacturers in support of failure investigations
Coordinate, plan, and schedule testing of alternate components for compliance and reliability analysis
Generate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in support of obsolescence efforts
Review new technologies and quality trends and make recommendations for improved reliability

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar technical discipline) is preferred
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of microelectronics and electro-mechanical packaging fabrication/assembly processes
Ability to read and understand specifications, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, datasheets, military & commercial standards, necessary to assess compliance
Strong analytic and communication skills, including ability to write concise findings reports
