Job Description
Summary
The Application Engineer's role is to implement, test, analyze, and support software applications to meet the business requirements of Universal Parks. This includes troubleshooting and providing day-to-day support to multiple business units. Additionally, the Application Engineer researches, designs, documents, and modifies software requirements throughout its lifecycle, working with vendors and internal IT teams to deliver new applications and enhance existing ones to fulfill business needs. It is important to note that the Application Engineer is not responsible for creating new applications.
The Application Engineer will serve as a primary contact for the user community, addressing business issues and designing, implementing, and supporting new business initiatives. A key goal of the Application Engineer is to ensure the uptime and stability of deployed applications, providing support to both team members and guests.

Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred, with majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields; Alternatively, additional experience within IT support will also be considered
3-5 years of experience in an IT support role
1+ year(s) of SQL experience
Experience supporting several applications ranging from small to large
Willingness to travel, work weekends, and special events with short notice; Support during non-business hours as needed
Desired Characteristics
Excellent understanding of SQL database and query best practices. Including triggers, stored procedures, SQL jobs, SSIS, and reporting using SSRS
Experience supporting a large POS application; Galaxy Ticketing System preferred
Extensive relational database and operating systems experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Windows Server 2016+ Administration Experience (review, troubleshoot, patch, access control, user access reviews, and IIS)
Experience with IT Service Management Tools (ServiceNow or Jira)
Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members
Hospitality industry experience preferred

Effectively handle sensitive and confidential matters
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
