Job Summary
Under direction of a School Principal, responsible to assure that the security of school grounds and buildings is maintained; provides security to staff members; monitors and directs student activities in hallways and throughout the school campus. Patrols the campus to maintain security and assists police officers and school personnel in the investigation of a crime.
The principal designates the security priorities; the School Police Department provides training and establishes District security policies and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
Equivalent to completion of high school (GED allowed), course work or training in public safety security, adolescent psychology, or other training related to the position and one year of plant protection/security experience or responsible work with adolescent groups. The ability to speak Spanish and experience in an educational setting is desirable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Class C driver's license.
First aid and CPR Certificates issued by an authorized agency.
Valid California Guard Card.
24 hour mandated security training certificate.
