Position Overview
The HR Generalist will be responsible for executing and overseeing various HR programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall employee experience. This role requires a broad knowledge of multiple HR areas to effectively support and align the people strategy with the company's overall strategy.
You will be tasked with supporting and delivering BradyPLUS (parent company) projects, performance management, compensation administration, employee relations, labor relations, conflict resolution, and ongoing analysis of existing programs, processes and policies for recommended revision leading to enhancement and improvement.
This role acts as a conduit to oversee the department workflow, partner with regional human resources representing corporate initiatives, and interfaces with the leadership team within the business unit on all pertinent information. Your role will be critical in creating a positive work environment and ensuring the company's success by attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.
Responsibilities Include:
Execute and manage HR programs that enhance the employee experience.
Manage local learning and development initiatives to foster employee growth and skill enhancement locally, and support company-driven initiatives like orientation and adoption of LMS utilization for optimal leveraging of accessible learning content.
Provide local support for HR initiatives, communicating alignment with local requirements and objectives.
Assist with management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and coaching managers on effective performance feedback.
Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures, in accordance with policy, union agreements and applicable labor laws.
May be required to collaborate with negotiating contracts, lead meetings with union officials and represent DC at union panel hearings.
Provide counsel on organizational design and planning resulting from turnover, business strategy changes, or corporate direction.
Continuously analyze and evaluate existing programs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to enhance the employee experience.
Responsible for preparing Business Unit communications including town hall presentations to provide business updates and important human resources specific planning, events, and news.
Partner with the HR Regional Manager as needed, succinctly communicating need for support to seek recommendations where necessary.
Collaborate with the leadership team to align people strategy with company strategy, identifying HR priorities and initiatives that support organizational goals.
Stay updated on relevant HR laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance in all HR activities.
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree in HR or a related field is a plus.
5 years’ experience as an HR Generalist preferred.
Thorough knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
Experience in implementing development programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for informed decision-making.
High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is desirable.
