Job Description	The Dining Services Department at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking a General Manager to oversee daily operations of all retail outlets on campus and catering functions as needed. Job Duties	Lead and monitor the preparation of all food and beverage items and cooking activities of foodservice personnel and act as on the floor manager during traditional mealtimes for retail and residential operations Schedule all retail employees Handle cash operations, convenience store purchasing, and negotiating Assign foodservice personnel, including student staff, to specific duties and direct food preparation and activities in a manner to utilize their culinary skills; handle staffing issues Give specific instructions in the cooking of menu items and observe activities in the kitchen to determine that food is prepared in a proper manner and waste is minimized Oversee and record inventories in all retail locations to ensure that menu and convenience store items are available for daily specials, regular menu items, and the number of customers served. Assist culinary team as needed Responsible to prepare and oversee weekly supply orders and placing orders with vendors Oversee the quality, freshness and appearance of all foods served, including cooking and preparation methods Administer health and safety standards in compliance with college, state, and federal code regulations Establish and conduct training programs for unit personnel and handle unit personnel HR documentation Meet budgetary requirements Use the POS system; program the register systems; handle necessary reporting from cash register systems Responsible for training of staff and trouble shooting in conjunction with the POS systems Responsible to oversee the handling of cash and deposits in retail operations Responsible to serve as the manager on duty for residential and retail operations during scheduled shifts Implement and handle special vendor programs and promotions Plan, organize and implement revenue generating special events on the campus, in collaboration with Catering and SESP Provide recommendations to the Director Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (ServSafe, OSHA, EPA, etc.) Serve as the Director of the Department in the absence of the Director Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises the Jays Nest Cooks, AM and PM Lead, the Fresh Nest operator, the food truck staff, concessions, Blue Bean Cafe and the student managers/employees. This position is required to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Elizabethtown College’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, scheduling, rewarding, and disciplining individuals; appraising individual performance; and resolving complaints.
Required Qualifications	Bachelor’s degree is required; plus five years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications	Experience in a high-volume, mass-feeding environment is preferred.
