Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Department of Management, Marketing, and Information Systems at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) is seeking applicants for a tenure track position in Human Resource Management for Fall 2025, may be as early as Spring 2025.
Duties will include teaching, both face-to-face and on-line, undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of human resources and related management areas, conducting research and publishing in scholarly journals, and providing services to the department, college, University, and appropriate national organizations. We seek individuals who are excellent teachers that can bring experience-based credibility to the classroom while also advancing the increasing research reputation of the department and the college. Qualification as Scholarly Academic under AACSB standards (as defined by SHSU’s COBA) and ability to maintain that qualification.
Educational Requirements for the Position
PhD Management from an AACSB accredited University; ABD considered.
Experience Required for the Position
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in human resource management-related courses at the university level is required. Experience with both in-person and online teaching is desired. Industry experience is a plus.
Other Requirements for the Position
Individual will teach 9 hours per long semester, engage in research, and support the college through service. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to publish in peer reviewed journals.
