Job Description
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creates and maintains employee benefits language databases for plans, e.g., 401(k), profit sharing, money purchase plans for clients, e.g., prototype plans, volume submitter plans, in compliance with current IRS plan requirements, reflecting current IRS as well as DOL required language.
• Submits employee benefit plans to IRS on client’s behalf and ensures timely and accurately filing.
• Ensures client’s elective provisions and options are accurately selected in system screen entry.
• Ensures IRS submission package, summary plan descriptions, administrative forms, and plan administrator guides accurately reflect client’s plan.
• Works with consultants, attorneys, technical writers, and clients to create and maintain employee benefits language databases.
• Works with consultants and attorneys to define language and system functionality to meet client and product needs.
• Analyzes and determines language changes. Verifies changes are documented in mark-ups.
• Creates and modifies IRS employee benefit language development project timetables and schedules.
• Maintains language manual, checklists, and compares files for each product.
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates design and development of employee benefit plan language database systems.
• Creates and maintains employee benefits language databases using Relius Documents Pro authoring tool.
• Monitors development, testing and implementation of language releases.
• Troubleshoots language database issues and escalates as appropriate for technical support.
• Other related duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Demonstrated understanding of U.S. retirement plans requirements
• Experienced reading and understanding legal documents relating to employee benefits plans
• Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Working knowledge of language logic coding utilizing proprietary database development software (Relius Documents Pro) and implement and create language releases on database files.
• Demonstrated proficiency with FIS and third-party applications, e.g., Relius Documents Author Pro software
• Language database development experience preferred
• Excellent service skills to build high levels of satisfaction for internal and external clients
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Resolves complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge and skills. Exercises judgment in decision making, determines approach, methods and procedures to use on new assignments. Monitors workflow and conducts quality checks. Reviews development and maintenance release schedules. Reviews language manual mark-ups for consistencies and issues. Manages full language implementation life cycle from launch, testing and final implementation. Manages with consultants, attorneys, and clients’ relationships to ensure client and product requirements are met. Coaches and mentors team members. May also coordinate and guide the work of others. May work on special tasks, projects, or issues. Works under limited supervision on the projects. Typically requires eight or more years’ demonstrated experience in a business environment performing similar duties.

The pay range for this full-time position is $77,100.00 - $125,680.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
