Summary:
The Shuttle Driver provides transportation service for employees, patients and visitors between the hospital and Regional One Health parking lots, ROH facilities and ROH events using hospital vehicles. The incumbent regularly performs preventive maintenance checks, and recommends service as needed. The driver maintains a positive image for Regional One Health, and conducts business in a professional and customer-friendly manner. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.
Education Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Requirement:
One (1) year of related experience required. Prior experience as a driver preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of residence with “F” or equivalent endorsement or CDL with “P” endorsement.
Must be insurable by Regional One Health insurance carrier.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to operate a 15-passenger van.
Ability to speak in a positive, helpful, and tactful manner.
Ability and temperament to adapt to work activities that are repetitive, short cycles in nature.
Must have an excellent driving record.
Must have skills in the safe and efficient operation of appropriate size vehicle.
Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of a motor vehicle.
Supervision Provided by this Job:
There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities associated with this role.
Physical Demands/Conditions:
The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
Must have good balance and coordination.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
Prolonged sitting.
Exposure to outside parking areas with extreme weather conditions.
Light use of force required in lifting /pushing/pulling supplies and equipment.
