Job Abstract

Broad Description of Duties:

The Food Runner is responsible for assembling the menu items on tray and deliver to server stations while ensuring proper standards are met according to guest and menu specifications and quality. Food runners will provide superior guest service while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment as a member of the Marcus Theatres food / beverage team.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• Interact with guests in an efficient, hospitable, and professional manner from the beginning to the end to nurture an excellent guest experience;
• Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items;
• Immediately communicate any food or service issues to management;
• Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set-up, cleanliness and stocked;
• Deliver food and beverage orders within established timeframes;
• Multi-task and assist teammates;
• Complete assigned side work including but not limited to: set up all garnishes for dishes, assemble trays, stock bread and polish silverware;
• Responsible for set-up and break-down of station at the beginning and end of shift;
• Assist with special guest requests to ensure total guest satisfaction;
• Follow instructions on safe use of all chemicals/cleaning materials;
• Clean and sanitize the facility for guests and associates;
• Monitor and communicate social distancing guidelines;
• Communicate with servers and kitchen associates to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Maintain standard of plate presentation;

Job Requirements:

• Possess strong interpersonal, problem identification and problem solving skills, verbal, and written communication skills;
• Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet the changing demands of the industry;
• Flexibility to work varied shifts to include days and nights, weekends and holidays;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• Ability to follow all cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices as mandated by the company and local regulatory agencies;
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn Aloha Point Of Sale System;
• Accuracy in transactions and cash-handling skills;
• Exhibit a positive attitude;
• Able to obtain relevant training certificate and/or licensure;
• Prior bartending/serving experience preferred;
• Minimum 21 years of age;

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, and/or walk often. Wearing a face mask is required during scheduled working hours. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in a kitchen and theatre environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high with an occasional loud environment. Education Required:

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities;
• High school diploma preferred
