Maxar Technologies is seeking an established, recognized leader in EO and Multi-INT processing technologies and systems to join our Sensor Programs team to catalyze growth in the expanding market for EO and Multi-INT-based imaging systems, to included proliferated panchromatic, infrared, overhead persistent infrared (OPIR), and spectral missions of all wavelengths. This individual brings a strong positive reputation with key customers such as the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Space Development Agency (SDA) and/or its United States Space Force (USSF) parent and is regarded as a trusted industry resource.
Our Sensor Programs team collaborates on development projects with staff at other Maxar locations and we routinely work with other companies who share our commitment to our customers and their missions. The Sensor Programs team develops specialized, innovative new sources of geospatial data, analytic methods, software and engineering services. Our work transforms how customers support global mapping and intelligence missions at scale, revealing unique information and insights. We contribute to integrated space solutions by harnessing and applying disruptive technologies.
The job location is flexible but must be willing to be in a SCIF for technical engagements, customer meetings and development/program activities.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with portfolio leadership, business development and strategy leadership, and other members of the technical staff to define an EO growth strategy based on customer insights.
Provide technical leadership of pursuits and proposals identified in this strategy.
Engage directly with Maxar’s customers and facilitate other leadership engagement where appropriate.
Recommend and assist in defining the business case for Maxar investments (IR&D, Sell, B&P) as appropriate to execute our strategy.
Serve as a technical advisor on awarded programs to ensure alignment with strategy.
Generate ideas for new Maxar opportunities (whitepapers, etc.).
Mentor and develop technical staff to achieve their full professional potential.
Required Qualifications
US citizen with the ability to obtain & maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical field.
M.S. and 25+ years of experience with optical imaging systems or optical image processing OR Ph.D. and 20+ years of experience.
Detailed understanding of current Sponsor EO, OPIR, SAR and other imaging systems, related ground architectures, and current prime contractors.
Willingness to travel as required.
Positive, collaborative attitude to help inspire internal stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those with a current/active TS/SCI clearance.
Proven track record of successful capture of major programs (examples requested).
Ability to capture customer research and development (CRAD) efforts to prototype and demonstrate new analytical technologies (examples requested).
Understanding of moving target indication (MTI) processing for tracks derived from EO mission data.
Understanding of techniques to fuse GEOINT (EO as well as synthetic aperture radar) with SIGINT and other sources to maximize intelligence value and/or reduce tactical delivery timelines as part of ground architecture modernization efforts.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$144,000.00 - $240,000.00 annually.
Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
