Position Summary:
Sr. Pharmacist functions as an expert, providing clinical expertise in Oncology services. Develops protocols, policies, and/or guidelines for pharmacy clinical services in Oncology. Serves on organizational committees to forward organization and pharmacy department initiatives. Actively involved in the creation and monitoring of quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with all related pharmacy and hospital regulations, including The Joint Commission and Title 22. Develops and conducts specialized education for pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff as needed. Performs the daily responsibilities of drug distribution, processing and therapeutic intervention, as needed. Undertakes tasks and projects to improve clinical and financial outcomes and participates in research. Also responsible for actively precepting pharmacy residents, students, technicians or interns as assigned by the supervisor. Incumbents will lecture to pharmacy staff and other medical professionals within and outside of the organization. Will submit manuscripts for publication in medical journals. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. Recognized subject matter expert in emergency medicine area with more project assignments than staff pharmacists.

Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $169,002.72 Midpoint $185,497.92 Maximum $201,972.24
Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
ACLS certification upon hire
Expertise in Pharmacotherapy
Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
Completion of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
In-patient hospital pharmacy experience.
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of acute-care based pharmacy residency plus 3 years concentrated experience in the Emergency Department and/or completion of a PGY-2 Critical Care or Emergency Medicine Specialty Residency.
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and/or Critical Care Medicine.
2 or more years’ experience as a preceptor to pharmacy students and pharmacy residents
Flexibility to work variable shifts
Effective presentation skills
