Position Summary
Monmouth University is seeking applications for two Admission Counselors in the Undergraduate Admission department.
The candidate would be expected to: impart information about the University to prospective students, parents, school counselors and independent counselors, to include: tuition and fees, academic award program, academic majors, student services, athletic teams, clubs and organizations; evaluate freshman applicants’ academic credentials and highlight unique cases as deemed appropriate for further consideration for admission to or denial from the University; represent the University at high school visits, college fairs, counselor meetings and information sessions through travel, at high schools, school counselor events, and professional development meetings in and out of New Jersey.
This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Willingness and ability to travel/recruit throughout New Jersey, New England, Florida and various other states required.
Willingness and ability to work both traditional, evening and weekend hours. Candidate must have excellent public speaking skills and interact comfortably both in large groups and with individual families.
Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people. Must have the ability to work with students from various regions in the country and represent Monmouth effectively in new geographic markets.
Excellent writing and public speaking skills. Must possess ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Must have the ability to plan, think critically, organize, and prioritize, as well as handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with MS PowerPoint 2016. Admission experience or employment as a student assistant in the Admission Office of four-year college or university.
Expertise with collegiate information systems, information technology, administrative systems, and/or current technology for marketing and e-communication.
