ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Perform all QA technician's duties as required. These include but are not limited to, pre operational inspection, monitor process controls, perform sample collection for microbiological or chemical testing, troubleshoot and take appropriate corrective action when deviations occur, perform quality audits, investigate customer feedback and internal incidents, monitor employees for proper work conduct including but not limited to GMP's, SOP's and SSOP's, review paperwork for accuracy, interact with USDA FSIS inspection staff and plant management teams, review monthly goals and continuous improvement projects with supervisor. Develop QA technician skills and understanding of food safety and quality system. Evaluate process flows and controls for adherence to HACCP plan. Assess data generated by QA and production teams to identify trends and develop plans to drive improvement. Drive agreed upon continuous improvement projects. Lead team meeting with QA team and Plant management teams. Conduct non-routine tasks (GMP audits, Glass/ Brittle, Retention Program, Internal Audits)Evaluate and ensure effectiveness of implemented corrective actions and preventative measures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor. Assume supervisor roles when supervisor is absent. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise and train your people so that they're fully capable of implementing the Company's policies and procedures. Regularly meet with them to evaluate their performance. Establish yearly educational plan for each employee based on their needs. Perform annual personnel evaluation and recommend goals.
EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of experience in a Quality assurance role in a food manufacturing facility or college education in a related degree LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to speak English, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Exceptional communication skills (Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus) MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Understanding personal computer applications and tools. (Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) FOOD SAFETY:Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
