GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leading/supervising the school psychologists and educational diagnosticians and ensuring best practices are followed with regards to evaluating and supporting students. Responsible for providing comprehensive school psychological services. Responsible for collaborating with teachers, school social workers, educational diagnosticians, school counselors, and other educators, and supporting administrators and parents in the effort to assure that students with disabilities receive appropriate education services in the least restrictive environment.

Ensure quality school psychology services are provided to schools and families.
Complete the evaluation process following established procedures for school psychologists and educational diagnosticians with attention to the development of individual growth goals for each employee.
Provide leadership for the school psychologists and educational diagnosticians by providing appropriate professional development for the group in a broad range of topics related to school psychology and assessment practices; facilitate the monthly school psychologist meeting; consult and collaborate with school psychologists to assist them with specific student situations, assign caseloads in a fair manner
Serve as a member of the special education department’s leadership team to support the division and school staff to provide resources & supports for students, families, and school staff to maintain a student’s LRE.
Provide consultation to district level special education staff in compliance matters.
Serve on district committees that support work with supporting the social/emotional/behavioral health of all students
Perform the essential duties of a school psychologist for assigned schools.
Provide psychological reports by evaluating student’s intellectual, social, and emotional development;
Serve as a member of the eligibility team for special education and Section 504, as appropriate;
Participate in child study meetings and follow up interventions to support student’s achievement;
Provide consultative services in an effort to support the learning of our students;
Provide counseling services for individuals and groups to support emotional development and learning;
Support school-based threat assessment teams and suicide screenings;
Provide crisis intervention in emergency situations such as the death of a student.
Provide projections to the director of special education for purposes of fiscal planning to ensure that school psychologists and educational diagnosticians can access a broad range of assessment instruments needed to maintain a best practices approach to individual psychological assessments and related data collection.
Perform related work as required.
Qualifications: KSA's, Education
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to lead & supervise school psychologists and educational decisions. Ability to make recommendations to school personnel regarding curriculum planning and programming for children with significant adjustment problems in both general and special education. Ability to offer consultative services with respect to factors, which affect the child's learning and optimum adjustment to the social and educational environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree from an accredited program in school psychology. Pupil Personnel Services Licensure with an endorsement as a school psychologist. Extensive school psychologist experience. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
