This Utilities Engineer role is part of our Plant Utilities team and plays a crucial part in our site's operations, ensuring that the equipment and systems are in optimal condition for use. As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Utilities operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, Safety/Health/Environmental Services, and Quality to address any unplanned/planned events and/or changes. You will work collaboratively to resolve complex problems and to ensure Right-First-Time operations in order to contribute to our mission of delivering safe and effective products to patients in need.
The Opportunity:
As a Utilities Engineer, you will directly support the site as an equipment/system subject matter expert and will be primarily accountable for ensuring that your assigned systems are fit for purpose and ready for use. You will be responsible for conducting Root Cause Analysis to investigate and assess equipment-related events, managing planned equipment changes, and executing/supporting projects. Additionally, you will:
Execute and support projects to enhance system performance and reliability
Demonstrate meticulous documentation skills to ensure Right-First-Time operations, complying with cGMP, SOP, and manufacturing documentation
Follow established safety and environmental guidelines and procedures, maintaining a clean room environment with large mechanical equipment
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations:
Clean room environment with large mechanical equipment
High level of noise for short periods
Requires gowning (scrubs, coveralls, gloves, safety shoes) to be in clean rooms
Rotating on-call assignments to support plant operations after hours
May work in the presence of hazardous materials to support utilities and operations
Who You Are (Engineer II):
You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field AND 5 years of relevant experience working in a GMP manufacturing environment
You possess demonstrated experience conducting Root Cause Analysis for investigating and assessing unplanned and planned events
You have experience developing Standard Operating Procedures
Preferred:
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial
Familiarity with WFI, WRO, clean steam generation, storage, and distribution
The expected salary range for an Engineer II based on the primary location of Vacaville, CA $87,290 - $162,110 max of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
