RUSD is seeking dynamic leaders who exhibit:
- Strong pedagogical skills
- Breadth of experience in educational technology
- Leadership with a 21st century perspective
- Development and implementation of programs, curricula, staff development, and the Individualized
Educational Plans for all identified special education students.
- Consults with and assists Education Specialists, Designated Instruction and Services staff, and
Special Education Instructional Assistants to ensure that the district meets its legal obligations to
all special education students and parents.
- Supports the development of individual educational programs and placement of students with
special education needs while assisting and facilitating access to programs and services by
promoting quality and compliance with programs and services.
- Participates in monitoring district procedures related to the identification, assessment, placement,
and instructional planning for individuals with exceptional needs in compliance with state and
federal regulations.
- Consults with school site administration and certificated personnel to ensure district compliance with special education law
RUSD requires applicants have a valid California Administrative Credential and/or California Teaching Credential - Education Specialist authorizing service in the area of responsibility and must hold a CLAD or similar authorization for instruction to English Learners.
