This position coordinates the daily operations of Mail and Print Services. Responsible for developing, training and supervising student staff. Assists with daily operations such as but not limited to the processing of all incoming and outgoing university mail and packages, and print production. Service customers by assisting them with all of their print and mailing needs. Responsible for the organization, pick-up and delivery of all university mail and packages and print orders. This position is largely a function of organization and problem solving, and requires production management processes, project management and
takes a detail-oriented approach to their work.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design, and or related fields of equivalent training.
- Three or more years of print production.
- Postal experience.
Required Experience
- Three-five years’ experience and with computers in a network environment.
- Good understanding of MS Office Word, Excel.
- Ability to organize, scheduling and meet production deadlines.
- Proactive about providing technical solutions.
- Two years of mail room experience.
- Working knowledge of current postal regulations.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s license.
- Knowledge of postage meter machines.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
- Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve satisfaction with print or mail projects.
- Monitor jobs in production and communicates with other staff regarding special jobs, proofs, and delivery schedule.
- Responsible for managing clients files, setup of prepress, color management, color profiling of equipment, operating print equipment, procurement of materials & inventory, workflow scheduling, quality assurance to meet client’s deadlines and budgets.
- Supervise student employees to ensure all mail and packages are being processed and distributed along with print production orders.
- Train student staff in proper Mail and Print Services procedures.
- Assists with the daily operations of Mail and Print Services.
- Maintain and enforce department policies and procedures.
- Coordinates the processing, receiving and distribution of all mail and packages.
- Answer questions on USPS mailing regulations.
- Maintain address files for mail forwarding.
- Performs monthly service checks on department van/truck.
- Performs daily safety check on forklift.
- Operates forklift, pallet jack and power tolls when necessary.
- Adhering to all pricing and inventory procedures and ensuring accurate inventory levels at all times.
- Troubleshoots printing & design and color problems for customers, and seek best options to meet the needs of the customers.
- Operates POS, ensures quality control for completed orders, follows opening and closing procedures, and sales accounts.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of material and information processed.
- Conduct monthly and yearly inventory of consumables.
- Maintains compliance with APU mission, vision, positional statements and other policies and procedures.
- Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
- Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
- Required to work varied work schedules to include evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of operational needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Ability to lift, grasps, 30 – 70 lbs., bend, pull, Repetitive arm, hand and wrist/finger motions.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods. Must be able to tolerate exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.

- Ability to conduct business at other offices on campus.

- Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- PC and Mac Computers.
- Experience and able to operate a computer in a network environment, using both specialized applications as well as standard administrative applications such as Google Apps, Microsoft applications, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Proficient in the use of Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- Design software.
- Solvent, pigment, UV, and Laser printers.
- Vinyl plotters.
- Networking.
- Knowledge of postage meter software.
Compensation
- Grade 7: $19.49 to $22.41 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
