Civil Project Engineer, Transit & Rail for Gannett Fleming to work at our Los Angeles, CA loc. May telecommute up to 3 days/week.

Independently performs engineering calcs, technical studies + preps plans + specs. Assignments incl transit + rail alignment design, associated civil designs + related infrastructure. Provide direction for technical supervision of specific design tasks, incl Level-1 reviews. Prep reports + letters. Participate in dev of project design concepts + criteria + reviews project docs for conformity + QA. Work w/ client + other disciplines to prep appropriate designs, as dictated by scope of work. Analyze moderate to complex design problems requiring dev of new or improved techniques or procedures. Participate in constructability evals. Provide direction to + supervision for technicians, designers + less-experienced engineers. Communicate w/ clients on task-oriented issues + on project issues under direction of Proj Mgr (PM). Attend public + agency meetings + participate under direct supervision of PM. Work across disciplines to dev overall design + plans for a project. Lead design of specific tasks related to transit + rail sys design. Conduct agency coordination. Participate in proposal dev as part of a pursuit team.

Wage range: $135,000-180,000/yr.

May be required to work in confined spaces and on or adjacent to active railroad /rail transit track.

May require occasional afterhours work.

May undergo background checks incl MV check.

Little domestic travel involved.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have Bach in Civil engineering or rel field and 5 yrs rel infrastructure/civil project exp or Master’s in Civil engineering or rel field and 3 yrs rel infrastructure/civil project exp.

Also reqs the following skills (3 yrs exp) in: AutoCad, Autoturn, Civil3D, InRoads, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Bluebeam (design and calculation software); MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; design / drafting manuals and guidelines; technical supervision of small work groups and project tasks.
