Support management oversight around safety, quality, kiln operations, mill operations and mining. Work with Warehouse Manager to coordinate WIP production to support appropriate packaging and shipping needs. Also, assistance HR around conflict management and team building.
Essential Job Functions:

- On backshifts and weekends, manages all plant assets and resources in the most effective manner to achieve plant goals.
- Monitor/report and take action as necessary on capacity limitations.
- Ensure routine maintenance on Kiln, mill and mobile areas.
- Notify maintenance team for assistance on issues that may result in unscheduled downtime.
- Provide maintenance with repair items for scheduled down days.
- Participate in weekly Maintenance scheduling meetings.
- Manages budget.
- Ensure all quality and ISO measures are adhered to by all Kiln and packaging personnel.
- Work closely with quality control team to identify and address quality issues that may result in off-spec material.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Maintain an awareness of the Quality Management Systems.
- Site leader of Food Safety initiatives.
- Lead by example to make certain all safety and MSHA issues are adhered to by all employees on site.
- Report any and all safety violations to Director of PAB Operations immediately.
- Directs on-site union/company HSE Committee monthly meeting and safety audit walk.
- Maintain, plan and implement safety policy objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Directs and maintains collection of required documentation to demonstrate compliance with company policies, state and federal laws.
- Inspects production workings to detect unsafe electric wiring, storage, equipment, and working conditions.
- Designs and implements safety training programs to be used by key personnel for training of personnel.
- Gives instructions to personnel in safe working practices and first aid and strives to promote and maintain safety-mindedness of workers.
- Preventive Maintenance goals.
- Plant upgrade goals (installation of new equipment).
- Ensure all general housekeeping issues are addressed promptly and in accordance with MSHA and Company policies.
- Proactively address and control air emissions and environmental excursions.
- Ensure all baghouses are operating within defined ranges.
- Supervision of kiln, mill, maintenance and mine operations.
- Specific supervision responsibilities include assignment of work duties, participation in interview process, recommending disciplinary actions and resolving minor ad-hoc employee relations issues.
- Work to maintain a positive working relationship with the bargaining unit representing plant employees.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Manufacturing Management or 5 to 7 years equivalent experience in production and safety
- 4-years’ experience.
- A minimum of 2-4 years supervisory experiences.
- Follows all Federal and State Safety Regulations, and company safety policies/procedures; Report potentially unsafe conditions; Aid in correcting unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.
