Reporting to the Director for Direct Marketing, the Direct Marketing Strategist is responsible for the coordination, execution, and analysis of data for the University Annual Giving Direct Marketing team. The incumbent will work independently to pull donor data to generate audience lists for multi-channel appeals, ensuring high personalization. In conjunction with the Director for Direct Marketing, the Direct Marketing Strategist will also analyze past giving trends to provide analyses of results and recommendations for strategy.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to anticipate needs, and can manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Create accurate and complex data lists (approximately 350+ a year) for multi-channel marketing efforts.
- Analyze large data sets and generate quarterly and FYE reports that inform the Direct Marketing team on the performance of 20+ school and unit partners.
- Execute data requests on time to ensure that Direct Marketing appeals drop on schedule.
- Maintain the accuracy of data tables with Direct Marketing appeal codes.
- Ensure that information security and privacy standards are met and that data governance standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with Advancement Operations on the CRM conversion, guaranteeing that Direct Marketing needs will be met during and after the database conversion.
- Participate in the Data Community of Practice, Office of Engagement, University Annual Giving, Advancement Operations, and University Advancement meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with two years of experience.
- Ability to work independently and meet overlapping deadlines.
- Proficient in computer applications, strong working knowledge of constituent databases (CRM) and software programs, especially SQL.
- Ability to analyze information using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of structuring data for reporting and analyzing for meaning, including the ability to measure success and outcomes and make data-driven recommendations.

This position will remain open until filled. This is an exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance. This position will not support work visas. The salary range is $52,000-$60,000 and is commensurate with education and experience. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
