Department Overview
The Wildfire Risk Organization is responsible for assisting the company to act decisively and transparently to prevent fires of consequence from being caused by our equipment. The organization will develop objectives to 1) prevent fires of consequence originating from our equipment; 2) meet all commitments outlined in our Wildfire Mitigation Plan; 3) continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and 4) develop consistent processes and work standards through the implementation of the Lean Operating System for sustainable operations.
The organization’s Asset Health and Performance Center team evaluates, deploys and operationalizes new technologies that provide data for real time grid monitoring. This enables PG&E to become more predictive of developing problems on the distribution system and implement proactive maintenance
Position Summary

Perform analysis on highly complex data from systems like but not limited to distribution sensor data, OSISoft PI, Outage Management, SmartMeter, CYME etc. Develop functional requirements for workflows that utilize grid and sensor data, in combination with advanced analytics and machine learning methods for predictive asset maintenance, work with cross-functional data analytics and operation teams to develop and execute workflows. Ensure that data from field sensors flow into the right data stores, identify data errors and issues, and analyze data to find business insights. Develop dashboards for monitoring department’s operational and financial performance.
- This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
Bay Minimum: $105,000
Bay Maximum: $169,000
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage data flow and integrations from technology platforms that AHPC has business ownership of.
- Work with subject matter experts to develop functional requirements for workflows that utilize grid and sensor data for predictive asset maintenance.
- Work with Data Analytics/Data Science teams to implement workflows on PG&E’s analytics platforms and help operationalize workflows.
- Develop/maintain operational dashboards that track lifecycle and monitor health & performance of AHPC field sensor assets.
- Develop/maintain dashboards that measure ongoing performance.
- Develop and track metrics that provide data for process measurement, business operations or risk assessment and may present findings to leadership.
- Assist with the implementation of process improvements and efficiencies.
- Works with department to develop budget (expense, capital, and expenditures), and monitor, forecast and report on budget performance
- Communicates (oral and written) recommendations and findings to leaders and officers.
- Supports complex and major projects which may be cross functional.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Job-related experience, 4 years
Desired:
- Familiarity with utility operations.
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, graphing, VBA)
- Advanced skill in writing SQL queries using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
- Proficient in UNIX shell programming (csh, awk, sed, vi).
- Strong knowledge of and work experience with visual data solutions implementation tools: Power Builder, Palantir Foundry
