PositionOverview:
Are you ahighly skilled CNC Machinist with a passion for creating precision componentsand a talent for leadership? We're looking for a Group Lead CNC Machinist tojoin our team! In this role, you will lead and coordinate a team of machinists,assign, and monitor work, and provide support to ensure the production ofhigh-quality parts that meet our specifications. Additionally, you will operateand maintain CNC machines, ensuring efficient and accurate output.
What yourday may look like:
- Provideswork assignments and work instructions to employees throughout each workday.
- Assistsand trains employees in new job assignments. Coordinates work schedules with other Group Leaders and/or Supervisorsand maintains work status.
- Performsquality checks on work being performed.
- Monitorsemployees' safety, quality, methods, and output.
- Keepssupervision informed of work plans, status, and employee performance.
- Assistsin preparing mock-ups and prototyping first production vehicles.
- Preparesand/or reviews employee time sheets and other labor input documents.
- Assiststhe supervisor in conducting regular safety meetings.
- Performsinformation inquiries and/or transactions using computer terminals to supportother duties and responsibilities.
What willmake you successful in this role:
- Highschool or equivalent
- Completionof formal machining Technical Training or Apprenticeship program, Technicaldegree, or Associates degree.
- 3-6 years of experience operating CNC machines with SINUMERIK control.Demonstrated professional competence in machining complex designs. Experiencein rail vehicle manufacturing is a plus.
- Over 10years of experience in machining and/or fabrication.
- As amachining technician, machine operator, or lathe operator.
- In-depthunderstanding of metalworking properties, layout setup, and hand machiningoperations.
- Proficiencyin reading blueprints and performing precise measurements.
- Strongskills in using precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators,micrometers, and gauges.
- Proficient inperforming arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction,multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Abilityto calculate rates, ratios, and percentages accurately.
- Skilledin creating and interpreting bar graphs to visualize data.
- Capable ofeffectively training team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Able toefficiently coordinate daily operations within the machining cell to ensuresmooth workflow and productivity.

Educationand experience that will make you successful in this role:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Atleast three years of experience in machining and/or fabrication. Must havepractical knowledge of CNC programming.
- Trainingas a machining technician, machine operator, or lathe operator is required.
- Candidateshould be highly proficient in reading blueprints.
- Possessstrong reading, writing, and math skills.
- Experiencedin using precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers,and gauges.

The hourlyrate for this position is $29.30-39.56 plus, 10% shift differential for 2ndshift and 20% shift differential for 3rd shift. Theactual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidateexperience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
