The Role
The Operations Technician II \u2013 Federal OSP Route Surveillance ensures maintenance related activities are accomplished to program and industry standards.
The Main Responsibilities
- Conduct OSP maintenance and locating fiber optic cable routes
- Assist with splicing and testing of fiber optic cable in a field environment
- Interface with Miss Utility Call Centers and automated programs
- Read and interpret Miss Utility tickets and compare to existing outside drawings
- Communicate verbally with construction subcontractors regarding protection and/or maintenance of OSP
- Interface with OSP engineers to determine best course of action for repairs
- Field inspections of fiber routes
- Read and interpret OSP drawings
- Complete field reports and incident reports
- Provide status of projects/tickets that could affect the OSP
What We Look For in a Candidate
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Software, or Networks; or a related technical or vocational education or equivalent experience
- Five or more years applicable work experience
- Clean driving record
- Some local travel required
Security Requirements:
- US Citizenship required
- Active TS/SCI with Poly
- Must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information (applicants selected will be subject to a government security re-investigation)
Compensation
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee"s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual"s qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$59,850 - $99,750 in these states: VA
As with the pay range variety that"s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
