Mechanical Engineer, Mid
Key Role:
Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with mechanical designs and concepts in CAD through AUTOCAD SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, or SolidWorks modeling and simulation
5+ years of experience with developing drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and Technical Data Packages
5+ years of experience with structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling for calculating and designing based on rugged environmental conditions
5+ years of experience with fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical components and systems in harsh environments
Ability to define requirements and design enclosures or mounting solutions for DoD assemblies, platforms, and systems
Ability to work within a cross-disciplinary team to effectively collaborate and meet project goals
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with data processing and analysis using MATLAB
Experience bringing systems through DoD Environmental testing by providing inputs to test plans, troubleshooting deficiencies, and generating post-test reports, such as MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-167
Experience with electronics packaging
Experience with low rate and prototype production methods
Experience applying human engineering factors for military systems, such as MIL-STD-1472
Ability to effectively communicate designs, risks, and schedule inputs to internal and external stakeholders
Ability to independently generate redlines to drawings and validate accuracy of updated drawings

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
