Responsible for driving standardization of medical and surgical products used in Atlantic Health System. Manages efforts to implement product standardization and influence product utilization across the entire organization in order to secure the investment of pricing at the lowest possible cost.
Principal Accountabilities:
Leads value analysis process to ensure proper evaluation, analysis and implementation of processes involving new or changing products. Process conducted to ensure a product selection which represents best value in quality, service, and price.
Lead Surgical Value Analysis Committee which reviews PPI items for the entire Atlantic Health system utilizing cost analyses, reimbursement data and clinical outcomes measurements.
Lead Interventional Radiology/Cath Lab Value Analysis Committee which reviews PPI items for the entire Atlantic Health system utilizing cost analyses, reimbursement data and clinical outcomes measurements.
Serve as a resource for clinical information and context that assists with product analysis; work with the Sourcing team to introduce new products.
Work with physicians and other clinicians as required to facilitate product change.
Monitor and evaluate clinical performance and acceptance of products.
Perform research on product redundancies, PPI products, clinical usage, and market share to standardize.
Create, review, and maintain Strategic Sourcing policies and procedures in full compliance with AHS. Create, maintain, and monitor vendor related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Address product back-orders and assist in the determination of suitable substitutes. Determine the appropriateness of continuing or changing products.
Routinely work with HealthTrust GPO to analyze existing GPO contracts for potential savings opportunities, participation levels, maintain existing compliance levels and identify opportunities in coordination with the Sourcing Analysts.
Act as a member of our GPO committee. Reviews product and financial information for all products presented to the committee.
Participate in QBR meetings as requested.
Analyze ‘Item add’ requests and determine if product is assigned to the correct expense code and a standardized product.
Creates, reviews, and maintains Strategic Sourcing policies and procedures in full compliance with AHS policies and procedures adhering to industry standards and within prescribed standards of care.
