Requirements / Qualifications
Based on the volume of applicants, we are prioritizing those who are fully credentialed and those who attached proof of their certificate of clearance to their application.
Please be advised that effective July 1, 2024, the Commission on Teacher Credentialing will reinstate the Basic Skills Requirement (CBEST).
If you do not have a 30-Day Substitute Teacher permit credential with the CTC already, you are welcome to apply and a member of our team will reach out to assist you with getting the permit. A completed bachelors degree is required.
Interested applicants must submit the following to be considered:
• Completed Ed-Join application
• Current resume
• Copy of credential/permit (if applicable)
• 1 to 2 recent letters of recommendation
• Certificate of Clearance
• Basic Skills Requirement (CBEST) Starting July 1, 2024.

Comments and Other Information
Long-Term Assignments are defined as those scheduled for more than 10 consecutive work days in a single assignment.
Dedicated Assignments are defined as those assignments where the substitute employee is selected to work every workday at a specific site or selected to work every work day for WJUSD.
